Grungy 17 & Simon says, Anything Goes...and it does.

Hey everyone. This week we are headed out on a quick vacation so I thought I would post today! Wow early hey! This will be for Linda's Grungy 17 sharing and for Simon Says Anything Goes! Check out this project! I have altered and thoroughly changed how this project template was originally designed. (By Kathy Orta) I made my shadow box shorter, on the other side, and my whole album is magnetically connected so you can take the album off! I think it is so great when you see something someone else has done and change it up to make it your own. I also used the rock hard Tim Holtz product on one of my front clocks, I like how it stands out! Check it out!

Grungy 16, Simon Says Newsprint!

Hey everyone, what a busy week. I managed to do a quick little project for this weeks Grungy 16 over at Linda's fabulous blog as well as a Simon Says Stamp. I kept on sewing this week! I had this beautiful small picture of my grandma and wanted to do something special with it, so I added the dictionary phrase "grace" as my grandma truly defines grace and put this together. I did the Tim Holtz technique also where you poke holes. I did it around the first mat, and that was kinda neat! The stars are grunge board and they have been inked. I added some greenery and some ribbon and wa-la! It isn't as fancy as other projects, but it was what I had time to do this week!

Big News!

Hey everyone a quick update on the autism service dog! We received a call this week that a dog will be placed with my son in about a month! This is very excited news! My son is very excited! Pictures will be posted once we find out which dog will be Tyler's! If you want to make something for auction to support this charity, please contact me privately. They will be having a big "Gala" event in November where there will be both silent and live auction items to bid on. We appreciate any support! Thanks so much!

Grungy 15, Simon says, and sunshine!

Hi everyone, I have been waiting for the sun to shine so I could take pictures of my card and was the day! This week for Linda's Grungy 15 and Simon Says, lets sew again!!, I decided to make my dad a birthday card for his 60th birthday.

I followed the steps of the Grungy 15's (Tim Holtz's) ideas. First I used some stormy grey on top of kraft paper. I then clear embossed it and rubbed vintage photo directly onto the clear embossed paper. I then inked with my ink tool the edges and on top of the paper again. I stamped my "happy birthday" and did a similar technique and then attached it with Tim's tiny attacher! I also stamped one of Tim's stamps to the front, added a button, some ribbon, and some metal. I layered it, first onto kraft paper, and then sewed it all onto the black base of my card.
Once opened I used my slice to create the nice little decoration and inserted a cute picture of my boys cuddling, aren't they cute! For the middle I did the same technique for the background and stamped a ruler onto the bottom. I again sewed it on and sewed on top of the ruler to give it some depth. I also cut out the "60" to place on the side. I also used a Tim Holtz stamp for the smaller page to add some decoration.

This just came together and I'm really happy with it. I hope my dad loves it! Have a super week everyone!

This won top 3 at Simon Says Stamp!!!

Simon is talking about sewing!

I really wanted to do this challenge and get it up but yesterday my whole computer needed restoring and I had to re-install everything! Anyways, my project was done but I couldn't upload it! With everything back to normal in my "computer land" please find my entry for this week's Simon Says Sew Challenge. I really like what I have done. I don't usually do things like this (the dress form)! I rarely do fake stitching as I love sewing. Years ago I used to sew everything, but haven't done that in a bit. I love the little sweet embellishments and everything just goes together nicely! Check it out!

Simon says, Flourish!

For one of the challenges at Simon Says Stamp, they wanted to see some flourishes! I used my new flourish stamp in the back ground. I went around the lines with the Gelly Roll pen. I also embossed the "Happy Birthday to you" stamp and then edged the black with the same gelly roll pen. I Cut out a flourish with my slice and then edged it again with the same pen. I really like the simpleness of this card. It was easy to make and I love how clean it looks!

Grungy 14

Hey everyone! For this weeks Grungy challenge I have done this card. I love the colors and the shimmeriness! I cut out stamped butterflies to add some dimension to the card. I really liked this technique with the white paint sticking out!
